See the topic on "Ionizer's" in the Environmental Allergies section.

I think mine was about $275; and it is very portable. We had to do a remodel to our Master Suite due to my allergic respiratory reaction a few years ago. We were able to get a letter from my Doc, since this was an extreme circumstance, to get medical deductions on our taxes. The link where I bought mine is in one of my posts in the above topic. It was listed as a resource in an environmental Allergist's book. They had knowledgable staff; I asked for someone very familiar w/ calculating sq-ft/flow rates, etc... to get the most effective unit for our bedroom. I have an all-carbon filter, but there are many types of filters/cleaners on the site. The guy actually recommended one of the less expensive brands over some of the more popular manufacturers. The refill filters run about $75/year; longer if you don't have lots of pets/dust. Still working on my Dear Hubby to take his shoes off when he comes inside!
And I have used Allergy Solution catalog for bedding covers and pillows /pillow covers(was given a copy at my allergist's office for the pillows). If you do a web search, there are many of these types of catalogs. You may have some type of store in your area.

BTW, has your Doc ever given you Nasonex, or something similar? This has really helped my husband. He has never had the usual allergies like I do, even tested negative to most things, but my allergist put him on Nasonex and Advair just during the time of year when he would get bronchitis (he started to get it in the Fall every year). Just has to use it for a few months a year. Works great! :)
Good luck,
Daisy

Hey KingM.....sorry for the delayed response. I used to sell the air purifyers....MAKE SURE IT IS HEPA!!!! These are the ones that are used in hospital emergency rooms, pharmaceutical filling facilities. I also have one upstairs and downstairs in my house they work great. I have really bad enviromental allergies
I would not suggest the Roomaid one...good for a room the size of a car but not much more.
these guys offer the product I used to sell so I know they are good
