Hi I just registered and wanted to tell a little about myself. I'm a first time mom to a 15 month old little girl (selene) she has lots of severe food allergies and I'm looking for help and some support.

My angel is allergic to nuts, milk, soy, eggs, and beef. It's been very rough. But it'll be nice meeting other people in our situation.

I'm sorry your little one has so many allergies. It can be quite scary at first.
It will get easier.

Hi Brittany -

Welcome to the forum! I hope we can help smooth out some of the bumps in your allergy journey. It's definitely rough at first (and at other times along the road), but support and compassion go a long way to helping, and I know we can offer that.

You have a challenging list of foods to avoid. Have you been able to find any help with regards to nutrition?

Don't hesitate to ask questions in the various forums. We're here to help!

K.

P.S. We don't avoid them now, but we have avoided wheat, barley, and soy in the past (for years), so I do know what it's like to have to avoid a lot of "staple" foods. As do others here.

Nutriton has been the hardest thign for me at this point. I'm suppose to be giving Selene EO28 formula cause it would help her a lot, but it's extremely expensive and at the moment I'm in a battle with my insurance to help cover it (I can not afford it on my own). Right now selene is underweight and her doctor perscribed Microlipids and told me I could add corn oil in her foods. I guess anything could help at this point. Selene's only 17 lbs 3 oz currently.

I see that you are from Utah. I know of some families in the U.S. that have had to fight their insurance companies. Send me a private message and I will try to hook you up with some people in the U.S.

K.
