My daughter is allergic to peanuts and several tree nuts as well as sesame seeds. It was very shocking to us (when we found out the hard way when she had an ANA reaction) since there is no family history of ANY allergies at all. She did have severe eczema as an infant though.

It would be very hard to find out through an ana reaction--must have been terrifying. Welcome to the board :)

Hi,
I am also new to the world of allergeries. Never had them until now and I am 51.
I found out I am allergic to soy. At first I didn't think I could cope. It has only been 2 weeks and although I am better (emotionally) every day is a struggle. I have lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks. Simple things like how do you clean a counter top to make sure it is "safe", what shampoo is safe, lotion, and making sure the dishes that we hand wash are "safe" These are now my concerns. I am still struggling with foods of course.
Just basic foods to survive, not how can I make a safe pasta dish or what would be a good home baked bread. I sure could use some food suggestions. I am a little tired of bananas. :D
I am amazed that there are so many people with these life threatening allergies.
