Hello everyone!

I am the mother of an almost four year old wonderful son from Edmonton. He has allergies to cats, dogs and eggs and has a life threatening allergy to peanuts (nuts???). He also has asthma but it seems to be in control. In fact the doctor lowered the dosage of his Qvar (yeah)!!

We attended the Expo in Toronto and set up the subscription to Allergic Living (love the magazine and look forward to receiving each issue). I have been viewing the website and the forums almost daily since then (on my breaks at work). We have recently purchased a computer so I can now participate in the forums. Without knowing it, you all have helped me tremendously. Allergies and asthma are completely new to our immediate and extended family and when our son was diagnosed with having this we didn't know what to do. A big thanks goes out to all of you for all your help!

I am completely new to forums so please forgive me if I don't use the proper etiquette or terminology. By the way, what does "dh" mean?? I still haven't figured that one out (no laughing now!!!)

Way to go Ana and Bryan Wigger!! I will work on my letter, although I'm not sure where to start!!

Hi! Welcome!
For the sake of speed in typing or perhaps for the sake of privacy, some people prefer to use the terms:
dh=dear husband
dw= dear wife
ds=dear son
dd= dear daughter
dss= dear step son
mil= mother-in-law
etc
I hope that helps.
:)

I have also always wondered what they meant. At first I thought dd was your daughters name ( kind of like D.W. on arthur ). I noticed someone else used the term so I assumed that it was short for something, but I too have been baffled.
