Hi, everyone.

DH and I just returned from a vacation in Vermont, and enjoyed the hotel so much that I thought I'd mention it here.

The hotel is Hawthorn Suites, and each room has a kitchenette, including a full-sized fridge, sink, stove with oven, and a dishwasher.

They have feather duvets and pillows, but when I phoned ahead, they were happy to replace the duvet with a blanket before our arrival, vacuum the mattress, and remove the pillows. (We brought our own.) They also did a special cleaning of the room before we arrived. They said that when booking, you can make a special request for them to clean with vinegar or bleach and water instead of chemicals, for those with sensitivities in addition to allergies.

There is a cat on the premises, but he only stays in the main building, where the check-in desk is. (A caveat for those very allergic to cats.) On booking, you can specifically request a room in the pet-free building. Many if not all of those rooms are non-smoking, but best to ask for that specifically just in case.

When we arrived, the teflon cookware was quite scratched, which makes it difficult to clean properly, so I asked them if they had any stainless steel pots and pans. They were very happy to accommodate this request. I also cleaned the kitchen and eating surfaces myself when I arrived just in case anyone had eaten peanut butter at the table. Of course, I did not use the toaster they provided, but I was personally quite comfortable eating off of their dishes once I'd run them through the hot dishwasher cycle.

There is a Hannaford supermarket a few blocks away, and a Price Chopper only 5 minutes away.

All in all, a great hotel stay. We had a wonderful time! Please post if you visit this hotel.
