Has anyone with peanut / nut allergics flown with Sunwing? We are going to Florida in April and thinking about flying with them.

We just flew with Sunwing and I suggest you go to their website as I was directed there. They stated that the manufacturers that are used for food prep are not using nuts/peanuts but can not guarentee so advice to bring your own food! We did that!

I informed the flight attendents upon entering the plane and they made an announcement to all passengers. They were asked to please refrain from eating any peanuts/ nuts products due to having a passenger aboard with a severe peanut allergy.

They did check with me about the snack as it did have sesame seeds in it. My child is allergic to Peanuts only. So I said it was ok.

I believe the website is www.flysunwing.ca

I hope this helps. :)

I have flown many different airlines and think the variation on how they deal with allergies is more related to the crew than their specific policies. I would suggest sticking to a direct flight if possible and telling them when you make the reservation about the allergies and asking their policies. Tell them again when you check in and again when you board the aircraft and ask them to make an annoucement. Bring all your own food for the flight and we don't eat anything from the plane even if they say its safe.
