I found this useful table on the Texas Children's Hospital site. Check with your doctor to know the right dose in advance so you don't overdose, print this table and take it with you. Benadryl can also be used for nausea, vomiting and motion sickness, and as a mild sedative, so check with your doctor for the correct dose for its various handy uses.

Benadryl dosage (antihistamine)

Child's weight more than 22 33 44 55 110 lbs.

Total amount (mg) 10 15 20 25 50 mg

liquid 12.5 mg/5 ml (tsp) 3/4 1 1½ 2 -- tsp

Chewable 12.5 mg -- 1 1½ 2 4 tablets

Capsules 25 mg -- -- -- 1 2 caps

Benadryl Dosage: determine by finding your child's weight in the top row of the dosage table.
Adult dose: 50 mg.
Repeat every 6-8 hours as needed.
Don't use under 1 year of age (reason: it's a sedative).
