With the holiday season fast approaching, many people have already started their Christmas baking.

My mother just sent me an e-mail asking what baking decorations are safe for our daughter. I answered her and reminded her that the bulk barn is off limits as well and an update on what the current allergies are. She is one of the few people I trust when it comes to baked goods.

It got me thinking, is it wrong to send a quick note to those who don't live nearby and whom we plan on visiting over the holidays. I'm thinking of something along the lines of "Merry Christmas! We'll be in town December 17th-Jan 2 and hope to be able to visit you during that time.
What does --- want for Christmas?
Just a reminder that --- developed allergies to --- since we saw you last and we are now avoiding ---. We'll bring a few treats with us that are safe for her. "

Hi Susan

I think that is a nice way to bring friends/family up to speed. I am sure they would not want to put your child at risk. It also avoids that uncomfortable situation we get in when your at someones house and food is already out and there is a problem with it(I hate that feeling). You are not only setting things right for you but it will help those concerned with menu and snacks. So I think a note sent in advance would be a good idea for everyone concerned. :)
