I'm wondering if anyone has encountered any food and potential allergic situations when they've visited public libraries with their children.
Could you share please:
-what was the situation?
-how did you react?
-was there a solution/alternative?

Thanks! I'm trying to gather different experiences of allergic families and additional challenges they encounter.

(this is for preschool and school age children)

I took my daughter to story time at the local library about 10 years ago when she was a preschooler. There was no food allowed back then. Several moms and I got together for coffee/treats afterward.

We had no trouble with reactions and dd does get major hives simply from contact with residue. If I recall, she often wore leggings.

I've been at storytimes where other parents have brought food, cartons of juice, cookies etc but I think our local library now has a food ban where the actual books are as there is a coffee bar so no need to bring food into the main library area.
