Saw it quickly on the news last night... Haven't finished reading the website yet, but thought I'd share it

At last!
A mark of conformity to identify
safe food products!

The CAC mark of conformity on certified food products guarantees that the optimal allergen control requirements as defined in the Certified Allergen Control Program are met.

The Certification Program was developed in partnership with food safety scientists and experts from several organizations of which Health Canada and the the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and the food industry.

From now on, look for the only mark of conformity used by the entire food industry for optimal allergen control!

That's good news. I posted about this a few weeks ago in Resources. Here's what I wrote:

Interesting info... the organization is based in Quebec but it is nation-wide and recognized by Health Canada. It is a certification program for the optimal control of allergens in processed food. For now, the program targets only almonds, peanuts, milk and eggs but you can subscribe to their mailing list to receive allergen control information for other allergens, such as wheat, fish, seafood, etc.

I just knew that all my obsessive calls to companies about their allergen control policies would pay off  and someone would come out with an allergen control symbol, so I (and others) can quit phoning them. That is great news!!!
