I don't know if this is a new product (or if it's only available in the States) but I was leafing through a parenting magazine and saw that Jif now sells single serving dipping cups of their peanut butter (package of 6 single cups). My heart sank a little -- I know that anyone can bring a jar of PB out with them and eat in public if they want to but the thought of making it easier for kids to eat peanut butter out in public places is discouraging. (I know it's the job of the PB people to sell more PB but still...) The add says "Open one up wherever and whenever you like. It's a snack that kids - and moms - can really go for".

that's insane, why do these companies feel the need to make EVERY thing peanut this peanut that. :( That is just scary that they come so "convenient" to travel with.

I can imagine peanut butter companies have taken a major financial hit now that PB is not allowed in most schools. They are probably trying to find ways to be inovative and keep up sales . Unfortunately $$$ is more important to companies than the fact that their product puts so many at risk in public.
