My sister sent me this and I thought I would share:

From the Dec 19 2006 issue of Quick and Simple.

" If you or your child is allergic to peanuts, avoid Clarins Ultra Protection Sun Control Stick, and its Extra Comfort toning lotion products whicih contain hydrogenated peanut oil. The allergen may be difficult to spot on labels---its botanical name is Arachis Hypogaea.

Also, if you have wax build up in your ears and the doctor/pharmacist recommends ear drops, read the labels carefully as they often have peanut oil in the ingriedients.

Mom of two girls (3 & 5) with allergies and asthma.

There are several sun screens and lotions that have peanut or other nut oils in them, can't remember the names. I use Ombrelle which I have checked to make sure is safe.

Regarding ear wax remover -- Ceruminex has peanut oil in it. It is available over the counter (no prescription required). However, my son's ENT said that ear wax is usually not really a problem, even if it looks like it is. He doesn't feel anyone should use those drops. If it is a real problem, ear wax can be removed by a doctor. My friend's young son had to get it done regularly (he called it squishy squishy) and he said it did not hurt.
