New to the Peanut Allergy world! My grandson has been tested and will be tested again next year. He did come up positive for the allergy, but there's a very slight chance that it may "disappear". His first reaction was after a snack of toast w/peanut butter. Major hives and a swollen face after about 4 hours. He's equipped with an epi pen. We have a cousin who as a peanut allergy so we're somewhat familiar with it. Still not an easy thing to cope with though!

My daughter found Freenut BUtter, which is veyr tasty! I would love to make my grandson some Freenut Butter cookis but can't find a recipe. Does anyone out there have one?

Thanks for a wonderful and informative website!!

This is a page of recipes on their web-site. I did a quick look, and it looks like none of their recipes are baked. I'd suggest you contact them and ask if Freenut Butter can be used in cookies -- maybe something about it doesn't work properly in baking.

I use Golden Nonuts Peabutter -- for sandwiches and for cookies. It's harder to find, and a bit more expensive. (Metro stores in my area carry it.)

I was thinking the same thing when I couldn't find a recipe on their site. I will try contacting them and asking them.
Thanks!

Here's the recipe I use, they turn out great. I use soy butter but any type of no nut butter should work the same.

NO NUT ‘Soy’Butter Cookies
½ cup room. Temp. margarine
½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg or one egg equivalent replacement (1 ½ tbsp. oil, 1 ½ tbsp. water, 1 tsp. baking powder)
½ cup soy butter
1 ½ cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
*Cream sugar and butter, add vanilla, soybutter and egg replacement.
*Mix in flour, soda and salt.
*Add 1 cup chocolate chips if desired.
Place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake 350 10-15 min. or until golden brown
