Has anyone in the Montreal area eaten at this Italian restaurant franchise?

I e-mailed the head office and was told they are peanut/treenut free . Even the pesto sauce is made without pine nuts. The desserts, of course are not safe, but they are brought in from the outside are not even kept in the kitchen, but in a front counter area.

I was hoping someone has had a good experience here.

I can't speak for myself but my sister lives in Montreal and her son is allergic to peanuts and nuts. She tells me that Pasta Tutti Giorni is one of the few restaurants she is comfortable taking her son to. They are very allergy aware. She goes to the one in D.D.O. The only food her son doesn't eat is the bread and the desserts.

Cool, that's where I live! I've never taken my kids there though. Maybe we should try tomorrow evening ;-)

Thanks for the info Storm.

In fact I'm just a couple of minutes away from the DDO location.

We will try it soon, I'll post about our experience.

That's good to know! The DDO location is minutes from my house! :)

DD is allergic to too many things for me to be comfortable to let her have restaurant food, but DH is peanut allergic, so it would be a nice place close to home! Thanks for the info!

We went yesterday evening, and had a fine evening. The server didn't even bat an eye when I mentionned peanut and nuts allergy. However, the mustard allergy got a conversation going with the bartender who had more seniority. (It looked like one big family!)
Anyway, they only had mustard (Dijon! He had the nerve to ask if DD was also allergic to Dijon. Isn't that mustard too? Duh!) in one salad dressing. That was fine for us.

On their menu, they have a note that the pesto doesn't contain pine nuts, the ceasar salad doesn't contain anchovies. On their dessert list, only one dessert was listed as a 'may contain nuts of all kinds' and that was a cake with actual almonds.

Hello fellow West Islanders,

I live in Pointe Claire. We don't often go out to eat due to my DD allergies that include peanuts, treenuts, and legumes. We just got used to eating at home except for the occasional McDonalds and we have been to Marathon souvlaki in the Des Sources Mall once or twice.

We had suppper at the Pasta tutti Giorni In DDO last night with our 5 year old peanut/nut/legume allergic DD.

No peanuts/nuts in the kitchen, desserts are not in the kitchen but in a counter outside the kitchen, and I believe ther was one cake with almonds in it.
Very positive experiece. The waiter told us not to order the pizza from the kids menu as it come from the outside and not made on the premises.
She loved the penne with tomato sauce and ate every last bite. Didn't have the bread or the dessert that comes with the kids meal ( ice cream with chocolate sauce) but I had a pack of Bear Paws in my bag, so she was thrilled to dip those in her glass of milk.

We will go back as out food was quite good as well.

Btw, to my surprise, the ice cream is a "may contain nuts" product.
Our first visit, my daughter was bothered by the ice cream, so last time I asked to see if it contained eggs (she's bothered by eggs too). The ice cream is egg-free (in its ingredient list at least) but then I saw the notice "may contain nuts".

I've lost quite a bit of trust in that restaurant,...

None of the desserts are safe there (or most other restaurants).

They are either may contain or they do contain nuts
.
Desserts are off limits where ever we go.
