So my parents are in sunny Fort Myers, Florida and decided to try this restaurant out ( I think it's big in the states). Seeing as how they are without my brother and I, they don't have any restrictions for eating out. But they told me they had an amazing experience there. The minute they sat down at their table, the waitress said, "Before we begin, do you guys have any allergies that we should be aware of tonight?" As my mom was telling me this my jaw literally dropped. I have eaten out all my life and never been confronted like that in a has always been me who has initiated that discussion. But my parents, who didn't even have to bring up allergies had this lovely experience. Well...they...just... were beaming from ear to ear! They told the waitress about my brother and I and said how refreshing it was to hear this and asked her what kinds of accomodations they can make for the egg/nut/legume allergic. She said they cater to people with allergies, celiac, even vegetarians. She said they have a dedicated area in the kitchen for special dietary needs where they wash things and know about cross contamination, etc. This is so cool since I have NEVER been able to eat at an Asian restaurant.
