I have a 13 year old son that is dairy, egg and nut allergic. We recently had dinner at Ruby Watchco in Toronto. We had a great experience, wait staff was well informed and his plates were served separately. Our waiter also told us that the plate goes through three checks before it leaves the kitchen. I told them of his allergies at the time of the reservation. They were aware when we arrived.

This is a restaurant where the food comes family style, and there is a daily dinner (posted weekly online). They are not an allergen free place. you will see dishes with nuts on the menu. I felt very confident with their knowledge and preparation but thats an individual decision. I would say it is food more for adults but my 9 year old daughter was also there and enjoyed the food, they are however adventurous eaters.

We'll definitely go back.

Great to hear. Thx much for sharing.

That's the place owned by TV Chef Lynn Crawford, is it not?

Yes it is. I also personally thanked her, to which she smiled and responded 'no problem at all'. Really great attitude.
