Karen,

I'd missed your post earlier. Those examples are real head-shakers.

Perhaps some of these cavalier, auto-injector shunners need to consider whether they want to be read about in a newspaper one day. Like the poor fellow in Seattle who also just "avoided" his allergen.

I was just thinking about that today, funnily enough...

Should I send the article to some adults whom I care about and whom I believe to be at real risk? Or do I just live and let live (as it were)? I wonder what Miss Manners would say....

K.

Speaking of deniers - I think (hope) I just converted one into being an auto-injector carrier. I was visiting a friend, her 18-year-old daughter and new boyfriend were there.

Daughter says boyfriend has peanut allergy and asthma and hasn't replaced his long expired EpiPen. She was upset because he'd just had a minor reaction with a 'may contain' food the week before.

Gave me the 'would you talk to him' opening. Oh did I - big time. He claims he's making a doc appt. this morning to get an Epi. I hope so.

You worry when you see guys like this. Thank goodness for girlfriends.
