 Post subject: Hamburger Buns

1/2 cup water )
1/2 cup milk ) or use just one cup of water
2 tbsp. butter or margarine
1 egg
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp dried onion - optional
3 1/4 cups flour (I sometimes use all purpose, and sometimes mix with whole wheat)
1 tbsp instant yeast

Put ingredients in bread machine and set to dough setting.

Dump onto floured surface and divide into 16 pieces. Shape into buns and place on greased cookie sheet (I use parchment paper).

Instructions say to cover and let raise for 30 - 40 minutes. I preheat oven to lowest setting, then turn oven off and put buns in for 30 - 40 minutes. When I take them out, I cover then while preheating oven to bake.

Bake at 375 d. for 12 - 15 minutes. (In my oven, a bit less. ;) )

Also, if I don't have dried onion I sometimes use powdered onion.

And, occasionally I put flax seeds on top of the buns before baking.
