Okay, this might be a dumb question but... what is tapioca? I know about tapioca pudding (never eaten it) but where does it come from? I have recently started using my slow cooker a great deal and some recipes for it require tapioca. I was looking at a Club House box of it at the grocery store but it gave me no clue. Is it safe for egg and milk allergic people? Does anyone else use it in recipes?
Thanks,
Kate

It's a starch (cassava)... You can use it in anything you would use other starches (like corn starch).
