I was given a cookie press a few years ago, tried it once(with disasterous results) and packed it away.

I had the opportuntiy to speak with a company representative at a local fundraiser and she gave me a few hints so I thought I'd try it out again. Well, I still can't get the dough to leave the press and stay on the cookie sheet but may daughter (7) seems to churn them out at an alarming rate of speed. She is very proud of herself and her professional looking cookies. :D

Here is the recipe that we have used (adapted from http://lovelikeavegan.wordpress.com/200 ... z-cookies/)

Spritz Cookies

3/4 cup sugar
1 cup safe margarine
1/2 cup soy yogurt
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt

Preheat oven to 350F.

1. Cream together the sugar and shortening.
2. Add the soy yogurt and vanilla, beat to combine.
3. Sift in the flour and salt and cream until dough forms.
4. Place dough into cookie press and press cookies onto ungreased cookie sheet.
5. Bake for about 10 minutes until lightly browned.

HInts:
1. Make sure your margarine is at room temperature.
2. If the dough won't adhere to the cookie sheet, add a little more flour to your dough.

She used the snowflake design and added a few multi coloured sprinkles on top before baking.
