Last night my friend and I decided to try the Kids night out at Gym Tale in Barrhaven (suburb of Ottawa, ON), for a much needed Parents night out.
It's geared to 3-8 year olds and ran 6:00 pm-9:00 pm. They played, sang and watched a movie (Madagascar). The snack that was provided was pretzels and gold fish crackers. I explained that my daughter was egg and dairy allergic and supplied her own pretzels. I reviewed the EpiPen with my trainer and this was met with a positive attitude.
From past experience I have found them to be very careful regarding food and it is not allowed in the play are. As well, children are instructed that they must wash their hands after eating.
We had a great time and the girls were all smiles when we picked them up.
It only cost $20.00; $15.00 if you're a member, $10.00 for siblings .
I highly recommend this to any parent who has children in this age group, it is refreshing to see a childrens centre that places the emphasis on physical activity and use of imagination, and the children loved it!

Hey - good news Susan! I will share this with the group in my next eBulletin if that's okay.
