Wow, a new EpiPen case with smart phone app. It tracks the location of the EpiPen, the expiry date, and temperature. It notifies you if you have gone out of range of your EpiPen (i.e. forgot it upon leaving the house), if the user opens the case to use the EpiPen, and more.

Brilliant! I cannot wait to try this. I have one question awaiting answer before I place my pre-order, about opening the case to check the fluid colour once per month and not setting off the alert system. (I love trying/testing new technology because I find the quirky bugs that others miss.) I hope they come out with one for Allerjects too, because I carry those more often than EpiPens.

Wow, this looks amazing! Thanks for sharing. I would also be interested in hearing if they will include an Allerject carrier. Great looking product, and it's good to see testimonials from allergists!

This looks like an interesting product, but most of the pictures I have seen of it show young children - who generally do not carry mobile devices?

Many kids here have mobile devices, even as young as 8 or 9. Younger kids are typically under the supervision of an adult at all times, so the device would be linked to the adult in charge of the child. So if Mum left the house with the child with allergies, and forgot the EpiPen, Mum would get the reminder... instead of an older child getting the reminder. Still helpful for everyone, I think.

I wonder if the app would still work on iPods and iPads too, with the Bluetooth features for proximity, just not the 'alert contacts' feature which requires phone capabilities. (Though I wonder if it could be set to send messages via iMessage over WiFi.) If not, I'm sure it would be an easy update for the software engineers to add.
