I've read a great book about food allergies and anaphylaxis.
It's called "On the Nature of Food Allergy" by Paul Hannaway

It's an excellent book for those who are new to food allergies. There are also chapters on eating out, sending kids with allergies to camp, school and off to college. The book is really informative - it does a good job of explaining the depth and breadth of allergies, but in lay-man's terms and without getting overwhelming. It is probably a good resource to have on your home book-shelf and to also recommend to school nurses, nannies, grandparents or others who may have a significant role in caring for a child with food allergies. The book also contains a lot of things that your allergist may not tell you or may not have the time to discuss in an office visit. Hopefully it can be as valuable of a resource to others as it was to me. :P
