Hi everyone -

Has anyone ever gone whale watching on the Saint Lawrence River? We will be staying at the Chalets Mont Saint-Anne at Saint-Anne de Beaupré outside Quebec City this weekend and one of the possible activities in our package deal is whale watching. (Too bad one of the activities wasn't the Céline Dion concert!)

What I want to know is - is it the season to see whales? I hesitate to do the trip if all the kids are going to see is water... I know the scenery will be beautiful but it would be nice to see some whales too.

Thanks in advance - even a link to a website with more info would help. I did search but did not find any specific info about the season about when one sees whales in that area.

K.

We did that trip last Friday! But from the other side of the River. We did see plenty of whales, there were two pods of 5 to 6 whales each all around us.

But be prepared to be cold!

Thanks Cleo! I'm glad you got to see some. In the end we decided to do another activity, because it was quite far away from our rented condo. But maybe next year... That's good to know they can be seen at this time of year.

Karen, how did you find the condo? Was it reasonably priced as opposed to a hotel with a kitchenette?
