Earth Hour is almost upon us! On Saturday, March 29, at 8 p.m. people around the world will be joining together to turn out their lights for Earth Hour, taking a stand against climate change.

I think this sounds really neat! I plan on participating. I probably won't be online, but I'll be reading my new Allergic Magazine that just came in my mail today! (by candle light)

I read that in the paper this morning... I'm defnitely going to try and remember it in my house! Every little thing counts!

Thanks Susan, I signed up, too.

Nelly Furtado is going to be playing at City Hall in T.O. - includilng her son "Turn Off the Lights".

I think I'll just figure out what I can do for an hour at home. A bath by candlelight? perhaps.

What are others doing?

We're going to play Scrabble with the kids by candlelight - our old eyes wouldn't be able to read Trivial Pursuit questions in the near-dark. At least Scrabble letter tiles are nice and BIG, ha!

I just visited my daughter's school and all the lights were off for Earth Hour - a tremendous number of schools are celebrating it in Ontario, according to a list email I just got from the Ministry of Ed. Now if we could just get parents at the school to stop idling their cars for 20 minutes when they come to pick up their children...

Carolyn :)

Earth Hour (yesterday) was a great idea. Glad so many communities were taking part....but too bad they didn't turn off street lights :? (at least in residential areas - maybe not highways). Had hoped to see more stars but at least we did our part! :D
