Have had some family friends suffer a furnace/carbon monoxide accident last night. Mom and Dad both passed out and the kids suffered but were able to call for help. All family members got out(including the dog) They spent the night in hospital and will continue to get treatment. We are very thankful that they are all fine.
Please use this as a reminder to be sure to be safe. Make sure you have a CM detector and that it is working.

Scary. Wow that could have had a very different outcome. What courageous kids to keep their wits about them while being scared and unwell. :huggy
I am thankful your friends (and 4 legged friend) are all ok.
We installed 2 carbon monoxide detectors last year. Great reminder!!

glad everyone is OK.

We just put in a new one last month. the one we had seemed to work when tested, but there seemed to be something loose. Also, a new smoke detector.

Yikes! Glad they're OK. Did it have anything to do with the awful blowing drifting snow? I heard that if snow drifts around vents it could cause a CO buildup. We have one, but it's over 5 years old. Think it might be time to get a new one.

Now since they are my sisters best friends I am getting all my info second hand but from what I understand they have some different kind of furnace and had suspected a problem, they already had a call in for someone to come and look at it. While they were waiting for this to happened, it was a bigger problem than they knew. I hear they are all feeling well today. :thumbsup :banana :happydance

I have one detector but I bought another one today to place in the hall by the bedrooms. It would be so easy to brush off the symptoms. I guess she had a head ache.
