Just bwoindered if anyone could shed light on the situation. I used clinque soap (the bar in the green dish thing), and have had a reaction (anaphylactic to nuts), with each time i used it (i didn't know what it was) the reaction got worse, with the last reaction full body hives, moderate swelling for FOUR DAYS even though i nearly triple dosed on claritin.

My mum sent a letter and they replied and said that they did not use nut products in that particular product.....has anyone had experiences with this ?? BTW i am not allergic to coconut.

As you know, food run on the same equipment as "nutty" food can contain traces of nuts. The same is true for body products. Only, the cleaning of equipment between different body products seems less than with food. I would suspect that a product containing nuts is run on the same equipment.

I have had experiences with my daughter reacting to shampoo that does not contain nuts, but is run on equipment with other products that do.

I react some what the same but with lotion of all brands but AVON. Can I put that there? It is the only lotion that won't make me scratch my skin off. I feel like I got the heebie jeebies. but not really. I'm a plain jane when it comes to the smellies and nope, I don't stink!

AVON? Are you serious?

They use almond oil!

Same with 'the sanctary' products.

Did your mom specifically ask about the ingredients in the *fragrances*? It's been a long time since I called a company about anything with a fragrance, but when I did I was told the fragrance companies keep the ingredients a secret. I think some companies are starting to release some information, so it's possible your mom got an accurate answer.

Either way, you stopped using the soap, right?
