I have been scouring the internet for a definitive answer, but really cannot find a consistent one...is a chestnut really a tree nut or a fruit? Various websites state differing information.
With the holidays, these pesky chestnuts keep popping up at family gatherings and I am not sure if they should be avoided or not (although so far we have steered clear of them).
Any input would be appreciated!
