I just discovered an American company that makes cookies, popcorn, and candy in a dedicated :D egg, nut and dairy free facility. The products are a little pricey but for special ocassions I think they're great! Check out the website www.divvies.com.

A friend of mine just got an email about Divvies, advertising their Hallowe'en goodies. I have to say, they look lovely. I wonder what they cost when you factor in U.S. dollars and duty...?

Hey...I am pretty sure those are the cookies that are going to be available online through nonuttin in a few months. That way, they are coming from a canadian supplier...so no duty, no insane shipping charges.

I actully took the plunge and bought some cookies last year - much to my husband's dismay!

While the total cost was WAY over the top ($10USD/box of 13 cookeies plus shipping) I bought 5 boxes to try to offset the shipping costs. They did an excellent job sending them. Arrived safe and sound and in only a couple of days. UPS Ground I think! I put them in the freezer right away and they were really delicious. My son thoroughly enjoyed them (as did I). The texture and flavour were both amazing! I was even able to share a box with my hairdresser who's son is dairy, egg & p/tn allergic. I gave them to her as a Christmas bonus (the bonus to her - she didn't have to bake!)

So, If I'm willing to buy a "Cookies by George" for $1.50 for myself as a special treat, I should be able to justify a "special treat" for my guy once in a while.

Margaret
P.S. They also used to have a special shipping 10 boxes or more so if you can get a group of people who live together to combine an order . . .you can share the pain (of shipping costs) and the pleasure (of eating)! Not sure if they have that special any more but worth investigating.
