After trying several cheese alternatives from the local health food store, I found Vegan Gourmet - it melts and it's pretty close to cheese-tasting (the mozzarella at least). Web site is http://www.imearthkind.com/

That's funny - it's the same cheese that I was talking about in another post awhile ago (Susan found it) - http://www.allergicliving.com/forum/vie ... php?t=1195 .

It used to be called Earth Island soy cheese, and it's made by Follow Your Heart: http://www.followyourheart.com/cheese.php

I wonder why they have multiple sites for this product...?

Anyway, I agree that it is the best alternative out there. We've made some great DF lasagnas with it (combined with tofu and other stuff).

Hi Karen:

After I posted I realized you'd mentioned some brands so I went back and saw that it was the same cheese under a different name. Maybe it's a US/Canada thing? They have all three names on the package, tho! :)
