I saw those at my local Loblaws and was curious if anyone uses them? Are they a good substitute for regular flour in recipes? They also have pancake and cake mixes that look yummy on the box... I have to contact them in regards to DD's other allergens, but I hope I can use them...

the last time i checked, bob's red mill was peanut free but not nut free . . . . i.e. the gluten free flours share lines with nut flours.

i use el peto rice flour but have reservations because there is a possibility of cross contamination with soy. . . but i use the flour anyhow. i haven't tried the flour mixes . . no advice there.

one brand i would be inclined to trust (but have trouble finding) is EnerG---they have shared lines, but they explain their cleaning process in detail on their website. they seem very allergy aware.

Bob's red mill said NOT to use any of their flours because they are all x-cnotamed with DS's allergens which are d, e, p, t and sesame. that was years ago and I haven't called since.

It's the same answer I got when I called this week... oh well, at least it's not a wishy washy answer!
