Hello,

We had a family reunion and birthday celebration today and my aunt wanted to order a cake. Knowing my son has an allergy, she wanted to know where she could order a safe cake.

Well, I referred her to Pazzo, a bakery that makes not only peanut/nut free but also low sugar, low fat cakes, etc.

The cake was beautiful and was excellent.

The bakery is located in Gatineau, Québec (its quite a hike but well worth it).

That's great to know. :)

There seem to be a lot of allergy aware bakeries coming out of Quebec, lately.

It's a nice place to go for a little treat, as well. My oldest and I have gone there on a date a few times. It's got gorgeous murals on the wall and lots of lovely little gateaux. :)

I also ordered two cakes from Pazzo. I was able to order them from my Local Party Mart (Kanata) where they were delivered.

The cakes were a hit with everyone, and I didn't have very far to go to pick them up.

I noticed on the web site that the company listed that they sold milk and egg free cakes also. Has anyone looked into these cakes for milk and egg allergic children?

It looks like Patisserie Pazzo has gone out of business. Their number is no longer in service and their website unavailable.

My son and I tried to go a few weeks ago and I could not find it. Because it was dark and rainy, I sort of figured I was just not seeing it, and then got so busy that I forgot to follow up with a phone call and an address check. But a friend just emailed me to tell me about the phone and website.

Anyone else tried to go there recently? I assume it is gone for good... :(
