I was wondering if it would be a good idea to have a list of allergy-friendly stores/restaurants? I know it would help me when I travel, or even find new things locally.

Here are places I can find "goodies" for my daughter:

Health Tree
3827 Blvd. Saint-Jean
Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC
H9G-1X2
(514) 624-2896
http://www.healthtree.ca

Region : West Island of Montreal
Products/Brands available: Life is Good, Glutino, Gluten-Free, Galaxy Food (dairy-free cheese), Natura, SoNice, Rice Dream and others...
Other comments: They have a full section of gluten-free products, and many of them are also free of other allergens such as dairy and eggs. I even found animal crackers that are made of pea flour! :D

Gagne en Sante
224 Rue Bellehumeur
Gatineau, QC
(819)561-6727
http://www.gagneensante.com

Region : Gatineau
Other comments: My mom told me there was good stuff here, but I didn't have the chance to go myself yet...

If anyone is looking for chocolate I have ordered from www.vermontnutfree.com they are peanut and tree nut free I am also allergic to coconut so that is always a chocolate problem for me. The first time I placed an order I tried most all kinds you can buy in a box! I was like a kid in a candy store! As an adult I had never had a box of chocolates, how sad but I must admit I had tears when the package arrived, I do have my favorites with them and some I would not bother to buy again. They also have different kinds of candies. I live in Canada and they have no problem sending by mail.

I love Health Tree as well...it has been a saving grace for me! Oftentimes, they can even order things for you that they don't usually carry, and if there is enough demand for it, they will order it regularly.
