Hi all -

My oldest son is visiting my brother in Vancouver, starting today. My bro is having a hard time finding nut-free ice cream. We are used to Chapmans but that doesn't seem to be available there.

Can anyone suggest a brand (and a store where to find that brand)? He lives in Kitsilano Beach, if that helps...

Thanks in advance,

Karen

Should have done a bit of searching myself first...

Chapman's does have a store locator which lists BC stores:

http://www.chapmans.ca/storelocatornews ... rovince=BC

I will send this to my brother.

But any other nut-free dessert ideas in Vancouver are welcome. Max can have peanuts, but not tree nuts.

Thanks!

Karen

Chapman's is definitely carried in Vancouver. I was there last weekend. I saw it at Choices Markets, which was the only grocery store we visited. They have a location in Kitsilano. They have Surf Sweets, too, which are the best candy EVER!! Save-On Foods should have it as well, and they're in Burnaby. We eat ice cream at McDonalds (well, we get the cones) and feel it's safe, too, but I know that's not everyone's comfort level.

Thanks so much, crickette79! I forgot about McDonald's - my oldest is not allergic to peanuts so we are comfortable with that option too.

I have sent the info you provided to my bro - thanks again.

K.

We have Chapman's on Vancouver Island too! It's just a matter of finding out who sells it.
I love the Chapman's products. My son has finally been able to have the premade ice cream cones (like the Drumsticks) and Ice Cream Sandwiches too! :D

I see Chapman's in a lot of different stores - Safeway, Save On Foods, Superstore, etc. There's a Safeway on 4th Ave in Kits - I haven't been to that particular one in a long time, but the Safeway near us has it all the time.

We don't buy Chapmans because DS is allergic to dairy and even though DD can eat it, it's too confusing so we just buy Glacee which is a peanut/nut free soy dessert that they can both eat - we get it at Choices - the one near Arbutus and 57th has it, and that's not too far from Kits. Not sure if the Yaletown Choices has it, though, which would be closer. Oh and there's the one on 16th and Trafalgar, which is a big one, so I'm sure they would have it too.
