I re-discovered the joy of eating ice-cream about a year ago when I discovered Chapman. All of their ice-cream have the mention PEANUT/NUT FREE. Since then, I eat plenty. :)

MOST of their products are safe - but make sure you check the label. They do have some products that have a warning - and it is written by the list of ingredients. A lot of their products (like the bricks of ice-cream) actually have a big flag that says PEANUT/NUT FREE - if you don't see that, then check the ingredients. There are some safe that don't have the flag.

Recently they added SORBET to their peanut free line. Also, safe are ice-cream sandwiches and ice-cream cones. (Can you tell I'm a big fan of ice-cream. )

I have checked Sorbert before and I think they are milk free but the ones I have checked always say traces of peanuts in them. I will have to check that brand to see if my son can have it. He is peanut, milk and egg allergic.

I have an empty container of Chapman's Rainbow Sorbet. Here's the ingredients.

water, sugar, glucose, orange puree(oranges, sugar, water, carob bean gum, carboxymethyl cellulose, sodium benzoate, natural flavour, colour), raspberry puree (raspberries, sugar, glucose-fructose, xanthan gum, guar gum, sodium benzoate, sodium citrate, colour), natural lime flavour, locust bean gum, methyl cellulose gum, guar gum, citric acid, natural flavour, colour.

Since I'm not familiar what words might mean milk or egg, I figured the whole list was better for you.

Thank you so much Annamarie, I really appreciate you putting the ingredients here. It looks like he can have it and I certainly will be getting a container of it. I was visiting your big city this weekend, the weather was fabulous and Momma Mia was great!

http://www.chapmans.ca/

We've tried the ice cream bars, and the drumsticks, as well as a few of the ice cream flavors. There is a place on the website to check for stores near you, as not too many of them (around here at least) carry this line. I can give all the products we've tried two big thumbs up!

Mom to dd(4) allergic to peanuts/all nuts

The IGA near my parents has some so every time I go visit, I swing by to get some ice-cream. ;)

In Quebec, you can also find Chapman's Ice Cream at some Provigo and Loblaws stores.

And Maxi.

Provigo, I've never seen it there.

I think it depends on each store's manager. My sister can only find Chapman's at her local IGA. But my mother finds it at Provigo, even though there is also an IGA in the same shopping centre.
