There was a post on Allergic Living's Facebook page today here is the message.
Quote:
I've been following up with the concerns that were brought to light a couple months ago about President Choice Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips and the addition of the wording, "May contain milk" to their packaging. My concern stemmed from the fact that the 1kg Club Pack did NOT include this warning where the 300g bag had a newly added warning and I wanted to know why there was a discrepancy. Today, I... FINALLY received an answer:

"I was able to follow up with the manufacturer and it was confirmed that the 1KG bag is currently processed at another facility which is why it does not have the “May Contain” statement on the packaging as the facility is free of dairy. However I should advise that the current packaging will be changed to a stand up packaging. This new product will be produced at the same facility as the 300g product and therefore you will then see the “May contain” statement added to the newer packaging. "

I will be replying to the email expressing my disappointment. I would suggest that anyone who cares about this change, also do the same. You can email them via their parent website (Loblaw.ca) by following this link:

Oh no! I guess we need to stock up now whilst they are still safe.

Count me in for an email. This is disappointing, as they are cheap, taste good, and safe for everyone in our family.

These have been a staple for us too. I will stock up and email.
