Tartrazine is a food color derived from coal tar. It is quite a common cause of concern for ADHD kids. Its safety is questionable. We avoid food colors as much as possible mostly due to their bad press for "drug like qualities". I am also pretty sure tartrazine is illegal in some eurpean countries.

Watch for tartrazine in anything with yellow food coloring. Kids vitamins, candy, birds custard powder, mountain dew, colored medicines etc. Since coal tar is carbon based it is considered a "natural color". So...phone any manufacturer to clarify what their natural color is derived from.

Not that diet specifically, but avoidance of food coloring and food preservatives yes. I see that you can not have MSG either. Generally food coloring and preservative avoidance can help a lot of health issues, or aggrivate certain health issues when consumed.
