Talking Allergies

I've seen advertisements for "hypoallergenic" down filled duvets and wondered if they are, in fact, legit. Has anyone with bird allergies ever purchased one, and if yes, were you O.K. or adversely affected? Are there specific things that one should look for in a "hypoallergenic" duvet?

My husband's mom bought us a hypoallergenic goose down duvet for a wedding present. I was suspicious, but so far it seems to not bother me. But when we change the cover, feathers go everywhere! So I don't know!

Do you normally react to feathers? What happens?

I love boutique hotels except for the darn goose-down duvets - I seem to be quite allergic to the feathers. Have to ask them to change. Try 'xplaining that when you're on the road!

When I used to sleep on feather pillows, I was stuffy and wheezy in the morning. That seems to not happen with this duvet, though.
