I am wondering if anyone has any experience or knowledge on what other metals in "fake silver jewelry" could cause a rash? I could possibly get a skin test and wait a few days for a horrible rash to begin, but I'm not that curious to know as whatever it is they don't make the jewelry without it. :P I've tried nickel-free but they hasn't helped. Any ideas or thoughts are welcome. I am fine with Surgical steel, Titanium(as far as I know), 10k White gold and up, and Platinum...now that I think about it, could it be silver itself?? But they don't put silver in the "fake" ones do they? Because...it would be more expensive...right...??? Well as I said, any ideas are welcome. :D

Anything can be in costume jewelry. You often hear about recalls due to high levels of lead. Do you think you could be allergic to the lead?

I react to random jewelry too, sometimes even high quality gold. I've found that I can only wear surgical steel earrings, absolutely nothing else (fortunately they're available at shoppers).

Hmmm, it's a terrible thing to say but I think there's lead my parent's house on the window sidings just because of the way the paint chips off though I could be very wrong. It's possible I could be allergic to lead....that's something to think about thanks Susan. :)

And Becky I'll have to look into Surgical steel jewelry. :) The only one I have is in my Industrial piercing. :D
