Anyone else here have an allergy to Lemon? About 10 years ago I started reacting to lemon. My lip blisters and swells, the roof of my mouth will get bumps on it. I went to a wine tasting (had a cider wine - whether it had lemon I am not sure. I know when I haev had a drink that had lemon the reaction was quicker and more intense) and my throat started getting tight (which went away after a bit)...Lemon scented stuff makes my chest tight and makes me cough....

Anyone else have this 'oddiy'? I can have any other citrus fruit. I know lemon juice contains sulphites (my dentist feels I have a sulphite allergy as I react to a lot of dental freezings) but I have come in contact with just the fruit and had a reaction.

I don't but I did a little searching and found a few sites:

http://www.gemoscan.com/food_intoleranc ... _lemon.php

http://www.labspec.co.za/l_fruit2.htm#Lemon

http://www.dermnetnz.org/dermatitis/plants/lemon.html
Note that this mentions cross-reactions with Balsam of Peru, which appears to be used in a lot of non-food items.

Another site did mention that sulphites are found in lemons and citrus fruits...

I keep hearing of more people with lemon allergies, so I thought I'd bump this.
