My daughter (ana to peanuts, tree nuts and asthmatic) has had a real eczema-looking 'rash' appear on her lower abdomen, buttocks, thighs, behind her knees and about half way down her calves - it started yesterday evening and is still there.
Could a rash like this be food related? Or maybe something environmental? I am going to get the dr to check it out but was just wondering if anyone had any ideas

Thanks
Kathi

Is this new? Has she been wearing some new pants? Dd had an awful rash from fabric dye when she was an infant and I had to wash a pair of jeans several times before she could wear them. (Hmm, I wonder if that is why she hates twill fabic so...)
Have you switched soap recently? It seems odd that it is just the lower half of her body.
Dd had exema as an infant which cleared up when she weaned herself but that was mainly on her cheeks and rough patches on her upper arms and upper thighs.

yes it is new
she did have eczema until she was 3, and the occasional flare up behind her knees since then.
she hasnt been wearing new clothes, we havent changed soap or washing soap.
I thought it was odd too.
We have dr appointment this afternoon so will see what she says.

thanks Susan
