I have always had an allergy to banana's over the years it has gotten worse. While in the hosp OR the anasteieaologist made them change the OR room to no latex and set it up again. So my question is... Are banana's, figs, and latex from the same family?

My friend was recently diagnosed with a latex allergy (just before Christmas) and at the hospital they asked her about previous reactions to banana, strawberry, kiwi and something else that I've forgotten so there must be some connection.

Why don't you submit the question to Ask the Allergists? Seems a good one.

Just send to info@allergicliving.com
