My son has been accepted at the U of Alberta in Edmonton this fall in the Faculty of Engineering. We're having a bit of a challenge on the residence side (no rooms available) and may be looking for a roommate or room/board situation so he can attend.

Please PM if you have any suggestions; know of someone looking for a roommate who could deal with an allergic roomy; or if you would consider entering into a room/board arrangement.

Congratulations on his admission! :D

Have you/he spoken to the student advisor? They may have had this issue in the past and perhaps they can help you source out appropriate lodgings. If you can find a local support group (maybe check with local allergists), they may be able to help you. They can certainly help point out "safe" restaurants, where to buy certian foods and tips such as that.

Yes, we're working with Housing & Student Services, but they simply have no rooms available of any kind. I hadn't thought of the local allergist approach - I'll look into that.
Thanks for the advice.

mharasym that is great news. Congratulations on his admission acceptance!!
:D
Our DS LOVES his playkitchen and pretend cooks all the time. I encourage the food play 100%. One day like your son he will be cooking for himself.
