My daughter just "graduated" to the regular epipen. I still have 4 epipen jrs that don't expire until Jan. 2011. Should I keep them around as backup?

Hi! I would absolutely keep them around.

Even if the are expired, I use them sometimes to show people. Using the trainer and a real one are quite different in the feel. It really explains better about placing it next to the skin as opposed to jabbing it. I'm scared it moight bounce out if jabbed (as I've seen it taught sometimes).

Also, the only time it's left a big bruise was when she had a reaction in emergency (meds) and the doctor gave her a shot. It maybe wasn't such a big bruise as opposed to her little wee leg. She's very petite. No, on second thought, it was big and it's never bruised on other occasions.

In any case, make sure you dispose of them properly, we take ours to the hospital. One time I was asked by a nurse what it was and when I told her, she said she had never seen one as they always use needles. :scratchy :frightened :confused
