My husband just found out about a possible transfer to Moncton. I didn't even know where it was on the map (I even had to double check which province it was in, sad I know) . I know nothing about the city, area, province etc.. We won't even consider the move unless we find out about allergy 'stuff' first. I called and Halifax is the nearest Children's Hospital (4.5 hrs) but Moncton does have 2 hosptials just not a children's.
I called the heath dept. and explaining 3x to the nurse that needed to know if Moncton had an allergist/immunologist, if not where is the closest one. She kept saying it was fine our son would go to a pediatrition. I kept telling her with anaphylactic allergies I'm not worried about a GP or ped.but need to know about an ALLERGIST.

Does anyone live in Moncton or near Moncton. Could you tell me ANYTHING at all about how you have found living in Moncton dealing with anaphylactic allergies. I called the school board and they told me all schools are pn/tn free but didn't know more indepth than that.

Help please!!

We already decided no....just too many negatives, no children's hospital, no allergist, we would be giving up a pn/tn free school that doesn't allow food birthday treats etc.. I have to say Ontario may have it's issues still but compared to other provinces is so far ahead when it comes to anaphylaxis.

WHEW, I was sweating today!!!

Well, I'm glad for you, because moving is so stressfull, and then if you the anaphylaxis issue, even more so.....and you are right about Ontario being far ahead in this respect...but you know, it wouldn't have been if Sabrina had not died and Sara wasn't a person to stick her neck out to advocate....

Another great thing about this forum, we don't move from each other. :huggy

Thanks A.A. :huggy
Schools , hospitals, finding out the policies of ambulance attendants /schools etc.regarding ana. .......
Then the one thought that popped into my head was :frightened where would I buy my Sunbutter and Dandies (peanut/tree nut/sesame safe -gelatin free marshmallows). :rofl I mean, I can buy Sunbutter now at my local Superstore and a second store in Canada now sells Dandies Marshmallows (a new vegan store opened in Montreal - beats shipping from Vancouver). Thank goodness we could decline this move, there was just toooooooo much to consider.
Nothing to make you even more grateful for what you have when thinking of giving it all up! No offense of course to anyone living in Moncton, I'm sure its beautiful and a great city.
