At the beginning of this video, it states that up to 2000 people die every year from anaphylaxis in the United Stated and Canada. This is dated 2008. I wonder what the #'s are now?

Alberta Advocate, Thank you for posting this! This is a shocking statistic! I never would have guessed the number would be this high... 2000!! :frightened Would anyone else have guessed this? I am going to send this to my son's school next year so they can be aware of this. I think they would be very surprised to hear of the number of deaths. My husband does some volunteer work with AAIA, so he is going to forward this to them as well.

12 yr old son: allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, fish, sesame, sunflower, mustard, poppy seeds, green peas, some fruits, instructed to avoid all other legumes (except soy & green beans), pollen, cats, horses

We posted this because it's a very good vid. - and from the Mayo Clinic.
Only thing we didn't like at AL, the fig. cited off the top. Even though meant to include food, drug & sting anaphylaxis, it's far higher than any we've heard.

No idea where they got that and wonder if it's a mistake.
Accepted death rate for food allergy-related anaphylaxis, emanating from Mayo Clinic figs, is approx 150 a year.

Me: allergies to some tree that flowers in May
