I got this announcement from Anaphylaxis Canada a day or so ago.

If you go to AC's Corporate Sponsor web page at http://www.anaphylaxis.org/content/spon ... rogram.asp you'll notice that their corporate sponsors are the ones making lots of allergy-friendly products (Pepsi QTG owns Quaker - makers of the new peanut-free Chewy bars).

We have a lot to thank AC for with regards to improved allergy awareness in the food manufacturing business, in my opinion.

Dear Registrant,

We are pleased to announce that Effem Inc. (the makers of Mars. Bars) has
joined our Corporate Sponsor Program.

In response to consumer demand, Effem Inc. now offers Mars Peanut-Free which is produced in the companys peanut-free facility in Newmarket, Ontario. The company recently completed a two-year commitment to overhaul this manufacturing facility.

Click on this link to read the companys press release issued yesterday:
http://www.newswire.ca/en/releases/arch ... c7544.html

We encourage consumers to read the ingredient list and to contact Effem Inc.
directly for more information about the product and their allergen management practices:

Consumer Response Tel: 1-888-709-6277
Email: 01.consumer.affairs@effem.com

For your information,

Anaphylaxis Canada

Does anyone know what else is produced in that facility? I am definitely enjoying the Mars Bars. But, it seems to me that usually more then one thing is made in a facility. Yet, I don't recall any other Effem products that have recently added the Peanut Free symbol. So, what else is in there? I might want to eat it too.

No idea - I guess you could call them and ask. Let us know if you do that - and what you find out!
