 Post subject: EpiPen and Asthma

We saw our allergist yesterday and asked about the new guidelines for the Epipen, more specifically about the fact that they have removed from the monograph that the Epi can be used in the case of a severe asthma reaction.

He has assured me that epinephrine is the drug of choice in case of a severe asthma attack

that it works quickly and effectively and should the reaction actually be an anaphylactic one then the Epi will address that whereas the puffer won't.

I was reassured by that and thought I would share the info!
