In their defence, a restaurant spokesperson told the Sunday Mirror: ‘It’s that sense of entitlement… it has to stop.‘We treat everybody the same in here and it doesn’t matter who you are.
'We have a policy that we don’t make substitutions. It doesn’t matter if you are famous or you have allergies.

Sad that the restaurant owner doesn't get it. We are not divas and this is not a whim. We have medical condititons and we would like to be able to eat at a restaurant with our friends and families. It's not just one person's business they are losing. It is the entire party or patrons.

What a sanctimonious policy.

At 8 mos. pregnant, isn't the customer really, really always right?

At 8 months pregnant my husband was smart enough to know 'I' was always right!

While I do not like him lumping allergies with sense of entitlement, it is a business' perogative whether or not they want to accomodate guests. Just means I would never, ever eat there!

This is why it pays to call ahead aned inquire about accomodations prior to booking a reserqation! :thumbsup

This restaurant doesn't even make me angry or feel upset, I want to laugh as it is truly their loss. For every dietary request be it due to allergies, an intolerance, or a request 'just because' that this establishment turns away I'm sure 10 other restaurants in the area will now make a point to advertise they would be glad to accomodate.
With the economy today you would think customer service - especially in the 'hospitality' industry - would be of utmost importance.

I remember eating out when very pregnant with DD and the server went to clear my plate thinking I was done but I wasn't. I reached out with my fork to grab the last bite and (by accident) almost stabbed the server in the hand.
