I do wish we had #'s available regarding how often these things happen in schools, I think it is a whole lot more often that what is made known. I believe the #'s would be high and would back up the need for annual training on recognizing and reacting to a reaction for all people working with childen.

When we lobbied the government in BC to get a law similar to Sabrina's Law, the Ministry of Education asked school districts how many incidents had occurred in the previous 3 years (it was either 3 or one year, I can't remember, so I am going with the conservative), and over half the districts indicated that they had had incidents. The definition of "incident" would mean, serious enough to have an incident report filed, but would not indicate severity of incident.
